Lorenzo Firmani - Phirmography

Hello everyone! I'm Lorenzo Firmani, and after a short break, I'm finally back on the blog. I needed to find some tranquility in my day to be able to write with passion, but now here I am, more energized than ever! I hope to be more consistent from now on.

In my last article, I talked about my equipment, and today I can confirm that there aren't any major changes, except for one really exciting update: a collaboration with a Californian company that produces a very special and almost fully automatic camera, Campsnap!

Fascinated by this project, I reached out to the company to get one of their products to test. And I must say, this little camera has a character of its own! Additionally, Campsnap was kind enough to provide me with a referral link that will give you a €5 discount on the purchase of the camera. Here’s the link: Campsnap Referral.

Let’s talk a bit about Campsnap, because it’s a project I find truly interesting: Brian and Melanie, former campers from Toronto, founded Camp Snap to offer children an unforgettable camping experience, free from the distractions of screens. Growing up without modern technology, they understood the importance of experiencing nature and forming lasting friendships. When they sent their children to camp with disposable cameras, they saw the need for a better option, leading to the creation of Camp Snap cameras. These cameras allow children to capture their camp memories in a fun and interactive way, without digital distractions.

The camera is made entirely of plastic, drop-proof, with no moving parts. In the center of the body is the sensor, and on the back, there is no screen, only a counter that shows the number of photos on the included 4 GB Micro SD (more than enough since the files are about 2-3 MB each). The only available control is for the flash, which can be set to ON, Automatic, or OFF.

Campsnap comes with various continuously updated firmware options. Currently, there are three: Standard, Vintage, and Black and White, each aiming to reproduce analog looks. I have primarily used the Black and White firmware, but I also took some photos with the Vintage firmware.

Finally, I want to let you know that I have added new photos to my portfolio. You can find them here: Portfolio.
